First race was pretty easy, I think I had a 5 second lead by lap 1 and after that it was just short shifting to the finish. Made a few mistakes but since other people did, it didn't matter at all. Woo.

Second race with a nightmare. Collided with a recovering Ben after the start and broke my front diffuses, travelled 6 seconds off the pace for a few laps before coming into fix the damage. Was 10mph over the speed limit and so got a stop/go penalty, and after trying to take it 3-4 times (some kind of bug I guess) and it not letting me, I got DSQ and so was last. But I didn't really care much.

Gratz to JZ for being the Porsche Champ and to Ben for bringing it down to the wire.

This was my first race with my wheel after using a joystick for over 20 years so i really didnt know what to expect, first impressions of the track was that it was awful, too easy to loose the back and and even somehow managed to flip the car by just nudging the kerb so did not have great hopes for this meeting.

qually
After driving a few laps in free practice i thought just get it round in one piece setting a fairly slow pace of 1.48.9 very unspectacular so was happy with 5th on the grid.

Race1

made a fairly slow start and also made a mistake straight away so after first few corners ended up last, got the car back facing right direction and just took it easy first few laps then begun to actually get the hang of the track, Doug and Justin made a mistake and i ended up being the heady heights of 3rd position for a while. I was much happier with my race pace as was nearly 3secs quicker than my qually run.

Then noticed that Justin was catching me and my mirrors was full of his car, managed to hold him off for few laps then made a mistake so was demoted to 4th. Luckily no damage so had a pretty lonely race, with one lap to go i noticed had only 8L of fuel so backed right off and managed to get the car home in 4th Place.

Conclusion

I have really enjoyed this series and i think the racing has been great,i will never be one of the fast guys but i like the fact there is always someone of pretty close abilty to race against, congratulations to Justin on a fine championship, I look forward to racing with you guys again in 2007

qually
Wasn't too happy with that, couldn't get a decent lap in within the time limit.

Race 1
Not so good from my side, after JZ's incident at the start I was paying more attention to his progress trough the field as my own race Razz
Must admit, was quite cool to see the fastest lap going from JZ, to Ben and to Stef in the end.
I spun the car too much this race, and got lost for a while behind the guardrail in a way to find the track again. Not long after that I flipped the car on the kerb Razz
All in all, happy to see that JZ could take his P3. (Nothing against you Ben, but JZ is my team mate Razz )

Race 2
This one was a bit better from my side. I didn't push at all, just wanted to bring the car home. Although my laptimes were much better this race.
I was on a nice P2, but then I spun the car and got stuck on the kerb, so after trying for a while I reentered in P5.
After that there was I was a bit too enthousiastic in my overtaking manouvre to Doug and launched myself into the gravel as I forgot my braking point.
And thanks to Stefans problems I could take my 2nd P3 of the year and celebrate with J on the podium, so thx for that Razz

In an attempt to make it a nice finish for the Fury website gallery, I slowed down in the last lap so J could pas me (I also didn't need to drive an extra lap that way, so I didn't have to worry about fuel).
But the attempt went wrong a bit, I got on the grass and spun right in front of J. Whilst I was spinning I was afraid he would hit me and I would ruin his championship, but luckaly nothing happend Razz

Well I was a bit disapointed with my weekend, depsite the two 2nd places. I reallly had the pace to atleast win one race but i had so many small spins that I ruined my chances really. Not that it would of made any difference to the championship as I needed to win both and JZ to come third in both, but with stefs problems in race two that wasnt gonna happen. Then again when I saw the small turnout my hopes of winning were pretty much gone.

Anyway Ive had a lot of fun throughout the year and I felt privledged to able to race against you all. Was great to push Justin to the the final race, although he is definitly a worthy champion, he has driven excellently from start to finish.

BTW Championship points are now updated

First off, thanks for the congrats guys Very Happy Has been a really fun championship, not a dull moment all season.
Shame I only got to race one season against Ben, but was fun all the same.
But onto the racing...

Qualifying
Going into this session, I was aiming for about 3rd, both Ben and Stef had excellent pace. Not really sure what happened, seemed neither pulled out a lap there practice pace suggested, which left me with pole...

Race 1
...Which just left me in the firing line of other cars when I bogged down after a decent getaway.
With my car now featuring a full set of dents and minus a bumper, I set about chasing 5th place, the decision was made however the pit, the lack of front downforce proving a problem.
25 seconds down on 5th after the stop was not a good start to getting this title won, regardless, I pressed on, at this point I had nothing else to lose, so just went for it, slowly catching up and picking off the guys in front.
The aim was 3rd, I figured this way I wouldn't hemorrhage too many points, Darren didn't make getting that 3rd place too easy however, we had a good fight for the best part of a lap until he went off.
Now it was just a case of holding position until the timer hit zero.

Race 2
Starting from 3rd I managed to jump to 2nd gear again, but managed to correct the problem quick enough. Going to the hairpin I made the pass on Doug for the lead.
From here it was just a case of runing down the clock, was actually quite difficult keeping the pace up.
Had a last lap scare though when Bas spun in front of me Razz but I made it to the flag in one piece.

Conclusion
Considering how unhappy I was with my pace and consistancy going into the server, this event went great, pole position, winning the final race of the season and the championship.
