Well we're working with 3ds max now...Dan's having lessons at uni and he's learning some useful stuff. Also, we have the Lienz track creator on our msn to help us out but we haven't really got far enough for him help.

No replies since August? Ouch long time, I wonder if you're still working on this? I'm building my own track in max atm (just finished the layout - kerbs, run-off etc) and its hard work, rebuilt the mesh 4 times already hehe

Well good luck to both of you if you're still working on it, looks like a fun project Very Happy

Cheers mate,

Yeah we're still working on it but progress is slowing down as we are starting to get to the things we don't know how to do lol.

Good luck with your track project too..oh and with your car...looks great!

hehe cheers man Very Happy

What are you stuck with? I have arguably the most knowledgeable guys in rF outside of ISI in my team who I can speak to to get you some help if you wish? If its just modelling issues, I *might* be able to help, there's some stuff I'm still a bit hazy on but I'm good at improvisation lol Razz

hey Zep!

haha yeah the work on this track is kinda dictated by the progress and intensity of my university studies, which this last year, has been full on uni work zero percent grasmere project.

the modelling we are not doing too badly, its something that can be enhanced once we have something ingame, and that is where we are stuck.

ideally, what we are looking at is trying to get a small really simple section ingame, literally a random straight and a corner and see if that runs.

once i can be able to get a piece working ingame, i can then work fowards with the rest of it in no time, its just getting bits ingame.

i used tutorials before and got one 25 metre square working, but when i added parts, it went to pot.

Zep I would dearly love to ask for your momentary help if you get a moment, easter is coming up and ive bummed this uni project where im actually ahead in my work, so i could spare an evening or 2 up to easter working on this export business for grasmere.

like i said, its export issues. the complete track work so far is one big experimental jungle of a mess currently, ive been using architectural tools and programmes to make the 3ds object, so it hasnt been made in max.

that said, i made the square example that worked in my architectural apps and it was fine.

add me to msn and we can get this going!

thanks!
